  1. SpaceX Starlink is an absolute GAME CHANGER. This is not an exaggeration...this product has the potential to change the world. Starlink will enable all of those remote spots with little to no access to high-speed, low-latency Internet to have access to one of the greatest resources in human civilization. I am personally very excited to see how Starlink will grow and change over time - BUT - it all starts with the initial setup. So in this video, I unbox my Starlink satellite and get it all set up...then we run some speed tests to see what kind of performance I get here in Oregon. $99.00 pre-orders just opened up this week! First come first serve on the pre-orders, so get yourself in there quickly.
  2. The Starlink website, where people can register to pre-order the service, outlines a set-up cost of $799 for the Starlink dish and receiver, plus $114 for shipping and hardware. The broadband service will cost $159 per month. There's no information on the website indicating what installation and service support will be offered. ( NZD Pricing )
  3. No timer or control to turn it off via app
  4. yeah nah i wouldn't host my data in space - aliens?
  5. When can I order for New Zealand Starlink Internet?
  6. Starlink ( Elon ) mentioned that RV/Motorhomes would get coverage. Here is the interesting part which may delay marine starlink roll out to ships/marine...In order for starlink to become available to the marine sector in particular ships - The marine radiosat manufacturers need to get patent licenses, and licenses from Starlink/SpaceX to be able to build radio gear that can handle marine environments & connect into starlinks new sat system. The marine radio sat manufacturers have to get a license to build terminals that can connect to starlink satellites. IF Starlink does not give out licenses to the marine radiosat manufacturers - We will have to wait until SpaceX starts developing their own terminal/radiosats for marine/shipping environments. I would say within a 2-3 year period some marine radiosat manufacturers will start to push out starlink compatible satellite systems for ships.
