When you cancel hughesnet, your hughesnet email address will cease. You will need to get another email service/address from a provider like gmail, yahoo, etc. Starlink provides the WiFi signal. Not email addresses.

The dish will find the saatellites without positioning it in any particular oriention. However, before you move the dish, make sure to "stow" it with the Starlink app in order to protect the positioning motors for the dish. I relocated my dish and Starlink Support advised me to stow before moving the dish.

You can buy a 150 Ft. Starlink cable on the Starlink shopping site. I wouldn't recommend "splicing" a cable as you'd have to weatherproof it and it may create and issue with the impedance of the signal at the splice.

I use Securifi range extenders. Amazon and other places sell them. They advertise they can be "set up in 3 minutes" and that's pretty accurate. They have a "setup wizard" that makes it quite easy to set up. The extenders cost about $100. Another way to do it is to purchase a Starlink "mesh router" from Starlink.

I live in Northern California. For me, it took 16 months before I received my equipment. I received an email at the beginning of this year indicating I'd receive it "near the end of 2022". I actully got it earlier around the first of September, 2022. I believe it's dependent upon satellite coverage addition to one's geographical location.

Can't seem to edit my post. I contacted Starlink support and yes, the correct way to move the dish is to "stow" it and power it down. That protects the motors according to Starlink support. I moved the dish to its permanent mount and powered it up. The dish pointed straight up, rotated and homed in on the satellites after applying power.

I have very good range with my Starlink wireless signal with no additions. I have used a Securifi Almond WiFi Extender with another ISP and I linked it to my Starlink router. I live in a rural area and I can get coverage a couple of hundred feet away from my home with the extender.

I just received my Starlink hardware setup. It installed quite easily. All I can say is I am thoroughly-impressed with Starlink. I work in tech and the hardware quality of all of the components is of very high quality, down to the cable with its silicone jacket. I live in a rural area in the Sierra Footlhlls of California and until Starlink, I have never had "real internet". I had two ISPs (one for backup). One was 3 megabits/second. The other (HughesNet) is about 25 megabits/second with a 10 GB monthly data cap. With Starlink, I sometimes get close to or over 100 megabits/second with a latency in the mid 20 msec range. I've purchased a Starlink Short Wall Mount on the Starlink website. The order says "Preparing Shipment" for four days. How long does it usually take to ship?

I have my rectangular dish mounted on the roof peak near the edge. I'm using the four footed mount that comes with the dish and have it secured with bailing wire to the roof so it doesn't move/blow over. I've ordered a Starlink Short Wall Mount and will permanently attach it to the roof overhang at the peak, about a foot away from its current temporary location. How do I go about doing this so it'll "find the satellites" after I slightly relocate the dish? Depending upon the keying on the Short Wall Mount, I may have to rotate the dish to its new mount. Should I "stow" the dish and power everything down? Aftr I re-mount it, what do I need to do to have the dish home in on the same location ? It currently works very well in it's location and I'm only moving it about a foot to a permanent mount.
