About Me

  1. Due to the area that I needed to cover in two locations (both have StarLink) I purchased 7 ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) routers. The first one I installed went amazingly well. I setup Starlink then put it in bypass mode and connected the ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) via the optional Ethernet port. I installed 4 more routers as a mesh network and was very pleased with the speed and coverage. The second install was a nightmare. Again I installed StarLink and put it in bypass mode and attached a ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) router via the optional Ethernet adapter. Everything seemed to go well but I was not able to access the internet. I compared settings between the two installations and could not find any difference. I bought a new Ethernet adapter and cable with no change in status. I tried installing all three of the remaining ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) routers (as the primary) with the same results. I bought a new StarLink router again with the same results. I have reset the ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) routers and StarLink routers so many times I lost count. I spent three weeks on this project trying everything I could think of and at no time did I gain access to the internet. Ever time that reset the Starlink router I could access the internet with no issue. It also works fine in mess mode as long as I use the second StarLink router. Just for reference I have a BS in Computer Science but retired in 2003 so I might be a little rusty but this one has me stumped. Any help greatly appreciated.
