Rick919
Hi I have a Asus home router that I want to use. I understand how to by pass the Starlink router. My question is, do I need to completly reset my Asus router to accept Starink? I plan to use Starlink as my main and keep my old DSL connected in the dual imput mode ( not sure what its called). Any tips on setting this up appreciated Thanks in advance
RicochetStarlink
@Rick919 If you ASUS router is set up to accept an IP address from a DHCP server on the WAN side, then it should work. To do this, you need your Starlink Kit and the Starlink Ethernet Adapter. In short here's the procedure. Plug the Ethernet Adapter inline between the Starlink Dishy and the Starlink Router. Connect your ASUS router's WAN port to the Starlink Ethernet Adapter. Your ASUS router should work at this point. If you aren't going to use the Starlink Router, use the mobile app to put it in bypass mode. As for your DSL line, unless your ASUS router is capable of Dual WAN -- and most are NOT -- your DSL will be sitting around doing nothing.
