Wifi / Network Setup

Hi all hopefully this is in the correct forum but  I need some advice please on my home network and Starlink.

 

So I have recently setup the Starlink V2 router  in my garden office,  howver the wifi signal wasn't strong enough to reach the main house. As I had already installed network cables in my office, my solution was to connect the Starlink router to my office Network switch, which in turn is hardwired to another switch in the main house and I  connected an AP (TP-Link Deco X50) to that.

My question is does anyne know if there is a way to use the AP on the same SSID as the starlink router because at the moment I continually need to keep manually connecting to whatever Wifi network available depending on being in my office or house.?

Not between the Deco and Starlink Routers. Starlink's mesh appears to use a proprietary protocol.

However, according to TP-Link's Web site, the Deco X50 is capable of meshing with another Deco X50. Assuming that you can connect two Deco X50 WiFi routers using an Ethernet (RJ-45) cable, my recommendation would be...

• Buy another Deco X50 for the shed.
• Connect the Deco X50 in the shed to your Starlink Router using a Starlink Ethernet Adapter. The Ethernet adapter can be purchased in the Starlink store.
• Configure the Deco X50's WiFI.
• Put your Starlink Router into bypass mode. Don't disconnect it. The Router provides power to the Antenna. Bypass Mode simply turns off it's WiFi radio.
• Configure your two X50's as a mesh
• GO

If the X50's can't be connected using your existing Ethernet cabling, perhaps the signal will be able to reach from the shed to the house?
