Gen 3 router not working with gen 2 router in bypass mode

Recommended Posts

I configured my gen 2 router in bypass mode connected per Starlink recommendation through an ethernet adapter to the input port of my gen 3 router.  However, the LED remains in flashing mode and never goes to solid white.  As a result I have no WiFi on the gen 3 to configure.  What could be going wrong?

Thanks.

RESOLVED.  I did a factory reset on my gen 2 router and THEN connected the Ethernet adapter and tested that it still worked correctly.  Then I added a third party Ethernet device which worked correctly.  I then put the gen 2 router into bypass mode and connected the gen 3 router.  Everything works as advertised.  I believe my problem was that I put the gen 2 router into bypass mode and THEN connected the Ethernet adapter which did not work correctly.
