TomWS Posted yesterday at 10:12 PM Share Posted yesterday at 10:12 PM I've recently set up my Starlink V3 system and purposefully aimed the antenna to an areas 'close' to North of my house, but between sets of tall trees, hoping to get reasonable reception. I was surprised that the performance is much better than I expected for the amount of misalignment. However, as I anticipate reorienting my antenna there is one thing that is confusing me. According to my Starlink App, the Starlink is misaligned by 32 degrees. However, if I go to the alignment page, it shows me an orientation that appears to be more than 90 degrees from its current position. So... Which is it??? StarlinkLeader
Hi There inowuld keep moving it until it’s happy at its expected alignment. even if you have trees in the way, whilst it’s not ideal - you will get just as good performance as you do with it misaligned.. so I would get it to where it’s happy. however, you can run it misaligned and whilst it’s not ideal - you may or may not get full expected performance and stability. do take note it can take sometime when it’s booting up to get its orientation right. TomWS
Thank you for the reply. It's not trivial to move it as I need to go to the top of our very steep roof, but I do intend to do that. I just don't want to do it often. What I really need to know is whether the 32 degrees cited in the Starlink app means anything. For example, do I go up on to the roof, rotate it exactly 32 degrees, and it will be perfectly aligned?
