New Install (yesterday by a professional company) outages every 2 minutes

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I had a professional installer set me up yesterday. The install company installs these daily and over the past several years, only three customers had issues. I have an opening in my trees, which they say is obstruction free.  When I look at the area it points, I agree...no obstructions. They do this every day and I had them confirm that it would work here before I actually purchased it. They don't "troubleshoot" issues for the Starlink customers so they recommended I post here. I have it mounted on my fascia with the longer cord going into my attic and down into my office. My outages say:

11:15 no signal received 11s, 11:12 No signal received 24s, 11:05 (same but 31 s), 11:03 (same but 3s), 11:01 Network issue 3 s.  Mt hope was to purchase this,, have it professionally installed and have no more problems. I am frustrated, should I send it back?  Sell it?  Kathleen Hill

I purchased the 150 ft. cable. The dishy is mounted on the southwest corner of my house with no obstructions from the west or north or south. The obstruction appears to be some branches on the east from a tree about 30 feet away.  I have the image of the obstruction. I literally don't have another place I can find without additional obstructions. If I move it farther west, I  think I will  have obstructions on the west. To get above the tree in the east, I would have to go up 20 more feet I think. I did the factory reset but it didn't help.  I was under the impression the northern area had to be free from obstructions.  I had no idea I needed a circumference of clearance in all directions. If I could tilt the dish, I might escape the trees but lose the satellite too. I'm not even sure that will work. Trimming the tree would be half of the tree. I am considering my options. Suggestions appreciated.  Thanks!

That looks  considerably more obstructed than mine was.  Running alot of tests  before and after relocating the dish i concluded  the obstructions  did not impact speed so much as they caused outages In my case every few minutes. Most were not noticeable. But I suspect with as much as you have with less than a minute frequency it could be a problem. In my case it was either cut down several trees or put the dish on a tower or live with the short outages and figure every time I might have to contact support they would blame everything on obstructions. I opted for the tower.  The tower is a 3 leg 40 foot TV antenna  type.
