I have spliced one of our SL cables successfully using shielded connectors to carry the ground wire and shield wrap.  But I can't get the splice on a second cable to maintain a signal.  The cable is fine for a while, but then starts giving me a message about checking to be sure the router is plugged in.  I have read about resistance, and have shortened the two cable ends to be about forty feet combined length.  I can mix and match three of the cable ends, but one end that goes from the dish to the splice is strung through our attic and not easy to take in and out.  I suppose it could be the end of this cable that connects to the dish.  I am going to install a new CAT6 shielded connector on the end of the cable that end in question before pulling it out and replacing.  Any other ideas??
