  1. @RicochetStarlink Alright awesome, thanks for the answer. That definitely helps. --Matt
  2. Hi, so the product page gives the dimensions of the mount *package*, but not those of the mount itself. The instructions also do not specify this. The roof I am thinking of installing this on is broadly corrugated so I'm wondering if it will fit in between the transverse ridges. I've attached an image specifying what I mean, if anyone can tell me this that would be great.
  3. Ok thanks @RicochetStarlink. Actually I have Starlink for business, but your point is still taken. Thanks for that map, yes I am definitely outperforming the estimated usage for my ared!
  4. I typically get between 100-200Mbps now, and the phone app survey tells me there are a few obstructions. What I have is probably fine for my current needs, but I kind of want to get the best setup I can before I stop thinking about it and put the whole setup question to bed. I realize I could buy a custom pole and use Starlink's pipe mount, but planting another pole is definitely more effort than I want to give it. It would be neat if there was a simpler way to get the dish higher but maybe not. I'm leery too of separating the existing pole components, lest when I put them back together they aren't fully true anymore, but if I knew the 'second pole mount trick' would work I would be willing to risk it.
  5. Actually what I bet would actually work would be to connect the two bottom pieces from two separate pole mounts, then attach a top piece to that. In my situation, that would require taking apart a pole mount (separating top, bottom pieces) that's already been in the ground a few days. I don't suppose anyone has ever managed to do this? I'm guessing those things are connected pretty tightly. Well basically interested in any ideas to extend the length of an existing, installed pole mount.
  6. So I have one pole mount firmly in the ground, but my dish isn't quite high enough to clear all obstructions even in what is basically the optimal location for my setup. I wish the pole mount was longer. As a way of getting extra length, is it possible to buy a second pole mount, take just the top piece, and attach it to the top of the existing pole mount? Has anybody ever tried this? Will it make a firm, tight connection with the existing pole mount?
  7. Yes @RicochetStarlinkI think you are exactly right, I tried again with the wireless router and it worked, I am now connecting multiple devices with no problem. I think the issue before was that I was connecting a switch directly to the modem with no router. It's not surprising I guess that, essentially, signals did not get routed correctly when I connected multiple devices in this case. Looks like there is a whole forum dedicated to 3rd-party wired routers so I will check that out but in the meantime if anyone from Starlink reads this... yo just offer a wired router! Some devices need a wired connection.
  8. I guess I'm a bit baffled because like I say I've been using simple switches for a long time to connect multiple devices to a single internet connection--wired or satellite. My work laptop, my personal tablet, a smart TV, my son's computer, etc. I feel like this is a very standard use case. Each one would get it's own 192.168 local IP address on a connection-specific VPN, I believe. I have Starlink's ethernet adapter on it's way, maybe that will help things when I connect through that. I also have not tried to do this using the wireless router, since I couldn't initially get that to work. Does Starlink favor wireless connections somehow?
  9. So I recently got Starlink business, and it's amazing for a single device. But one thing I've noticed is that connecting multiple devices to a switch/splitter has been problematic, more so than connecting multiple devices with other satellite internet services. When two devices are connected, for example, the second device is no longer able to access certain websites, like internet speed tests or videoconferencing sites. Any thoughts there? This is using a tp-link switch. Again, this never happened with other internet services. Are there particular switches that are known to work with Starlink?
  10. Thanks very much @RicochetStarlink. I will buy that adapter. 11. Hi, I have just gotten Starlink Business, and it allows me to connect wirelessly, or use a wired connection, but apparently not both at once. Is there any way to do this with what comes in the box? Or do I have to buy the adapter from the store? https://shop.starlink.com/products/us-premium-ethernet-adapter-gen2-business Matt
