  1. I did eventually get an actual answer after several that just spewed out chat-bot canned responses no remotely related to the question. The answer being that with some minor reservation, I can expect the gateway address to remain as 100.64.0.1.
  2. It seems nobody actually knows, even Starlink themselves who just answered with a rambling speil about public addresses. Maybe they just didn't understand the question and couldn't be bothered to find someone who does. That level of support doesn't inspire confidence in what is pretty expensive service.
  3. There are a few ways to do this, depending on your networking knowledge and requirements. Starting point would be finding best place to mount the Starlink dish to give it a clear view. In my case that's the garage wall, with the Starlink router and power supply wall mounted inside. I already had Cat5e to the house. So I use one to link the SL router to our main wireless router in th house.
  4. Hi, Does anyone happen to know whether the next hop gateway address in Bypass Mode will always be the same, 100.64.0.1? Reason for asking is I want to set up failover on our main firewall, and the easiest mechanism relies on tracking a couple of Internet via a known next hop, and only bringing up the default route if at least one is reachable. Thanks.
  5. What you're looking for is "Bypass Mode" which disables pretty much all router functions and passes the WAN address out by DHCP to your own router or firewall. Once in Bypass the only way back is to factory reset the SL router, but that's an easy button press. Note they use CGNAT so your address will be on 100.64.0.0/10. This also means you'll still have double NAT.
