Where Can I Install This Thing?
ProDishy replied to MichelleMattie's topic in Starlink Troubleshooting & Questions
Hi @MichelleMattie Glad to have you onboard. - What area/region are you based in? - I'll check out our list of installers and see who's in the area for you. - The installer can give you the best advice regarding installation and where to place it, including cabling. Note: I'd recommend not running it near the other dishes because it could cause interference, even with the sat's off. The higher the better 🙂 -
Hi @Greg Can any other devices with WiFi connect to starlink OK? Or is it only your PC?

Sorry to hear you didnt get a response from the support team. Lets hope support improves in future 🙂 Glad to hear that the firmware upgrade sorted it. I'd assume it was a mass bug - and many people sent in tickets, however replying to the thousands of particular bug tickets would be immense - So instead they roll out the firmware update and just fix it. - I'd say in future there maybe more notification about firmware issues and bugs once stability, inter-area networking is completed. - There is still a lot of work going on in the background! 🙂

Any information on connections for the new Dish?
ProDishy replied to Saboken1's topic in Starlink Troubleshooting & Questions
- You can incorporate your own cable and outside unit as mentioned - However you would have to rewire to the starlink PoE proprietary wiring. Also take note that there is 180W of PoE power going across it, if anything an outdoor ethernet plug thats got the two twist screw ends, and the joiner in the middle would be ideal - Then your able to disconnect inside and outside easily, whilst its weather proof. Googling " ip67 ethernet outdoor plug rj45 " came up with some decent results. Hope this helps 🙂- 1 reply

I would highly recommend getting an ethernet adapter. The starlink router will remain as the primary router. The starlink router handles connectivity and signin, as well as firmware updates. Ensure your google mesh does not replicate the same SSID as your starlink router.

Can I back out a Starlink software update?

Downgrading firmware is not available currently. -
Replied to your other query. - Avoid sway as much as possible

Extended flag pole - starlink
ProDishy replied to SteveC's topic in Starlink Troubleshooting & Questions
The sway should not effect it, however i would attempt to restrict sway via guide lines - If the dish were to get anymore than 1ft of sway or movement - it may effect connectivity. -

Available cells changing back to Waitlist
ProDishy replied to Roger Duffell's topic in Starlink Coverage
Possibly due to congestion - As they increase the number of satellites the capacity increases. - More launches means more satellites 🙂 I would send in a query or ticket if you can as your in the USA i would expect to not be waiting this long. -
RV receives lesser priority compared to static, non-roaming terminals. - This means if you venture into a highly dense area whereby lots of users are on starlink, and/or the satellite your dishy is connected too is congested - You will receive lesser priority on your data traffic going between your terminal and the internet. This may result in latency.

Birds Love to Poop on Dishy

Setup a hawk or predator bird model nearby the pole of dishy and they will avoid being near dishy for sure 🙂 -
Immediately access high-speed, low-latency internet on an as-needed basis at any destination where Starlink provides active coverage. Starlink for RVs is ideal for customers travelling to locations where connectivity has been unreliable or completely unavailable. Users can expect high speed, low latency internet in areas marked "Available", and notably slower speeds during hours of peak usage in areas marked as "Waitlist" or during events with many collocated users. Starlink for RVs is not designed for use while in motion. Starlink for RVs provides the ability to pause and un-pause service at any time and is billed in one-month increments, allowing users to customize their service to their individual travel needs. Starlink for RVs ships immediately and arrives with everything you need to get online in a matter of minutes. Starlink requires a clear view of the sky to connect. Download the Starlink App to determine the best placement for your location. www.starlink.com/rv for more information.
