  1. Although I'm not at my home in Clarkesville right now, I frequently check my connectivity remotely - I've received multiple emails from my alarm system stating that there has been a lost of connection to the internet and has reverted to using cellular service for reporting alarm notifications...I've never seen this come up, maybe once a few weeks ago, but it's happened several times today. I'm guessing there are some network/sattelite/congestion issues. Wondering if you had any insight as to why this has happened several times today (Tuesday). Thanks,
  2. After my initial installation at my home in rural Georgia, I mounted it on the roof between the main and second floor. it was the best I could do on my own, but that placement height I knew would have many obstructions. The trees on our property surround our home and there are many mature trees that are at least 30 to 40 feet high. Despite the significant obstructions, the times the service wasn't obstructed resulted in many times where my service would be interrupted, I was still able to stream TV. Services like Teams meetings and other live video chat would often be interrupted since those services don't buffer additional data like streaming TV does. The streaming mostly worked without interruption and significantly better than Windstream's DSL 3mbps speed. Knowing I had to change the location, I decided to purchase a 25 foot telescopic antenna pole and had it mounted up on the next roof level up, approximately 30 feet above the ground. So the height of the roof and the telescopic antenna holder significantly raised my dishy. Although I still show my dish is obstructed, it is signficantly less than it was prior to the change. My app still says I'm obstructed but since this installation I have never seen the dish go offline. The statistics warn to expect obstructions every 2 minutes, but honestly last time I was there, those obstructions were not noticeable while using my internet. On average there are about 6 minutes of obstructions over a twelve hour period. Feels tolerable and insignificant, considering that I never notice any downtime. If I really want to eliminate all the obstructions, I may need to trim back a few more trees - not cheap. Should I spend the money to eliminate all of the obstructions if it doesn't appear to actually be impacting the reliability of my use. Screenshot from the app is attached. Does anyone have an opinion on whether or not my reported service experience could be even more impressive if I trip the tops of the trees that show up as obstructions?
  3. I have a home in rural Northeast Georgia, Clarkesville. I’ve had Starlink for about two months. When I first installed the dish, I put it on my lower roof - over the main floor. Because I live in a heavily wooded area, that location actually had way too many obstructions. At the times when it wasn’t obstructed, I was extremely pleased with the service. Unfortunately, the number of times the signal was obstructed was not manageable. So I purchased a 25 telescopic pole that I had a gentleman install on the bird box of my A-frame roof. Although the app still shows some obstructions - mostly to the west because of some high trees - and that i should expect interruptions every 2 minutes, I’m happy to report that in a 12 hour period, my average number of minutes of obstruction has been abou 4 minutes. Totally manageable and also, I never even notice it when the signal is obstructed. Prior to the extension pole, it was very frequent. The only internet provider I had access to was Windstream by Kinetic. Their average mbps was probably 3 or 4 at most. I’ve had times where my Speedtest shows over 100 mbps. I am able to stream tv without any issues, and now working from home has also become a reality. Prior to the extension pole, my video calls (Teams & Zoom) would disconnect constantly. Although I’m extremely satisifed with the service, I may have those tree branches trimmed off. Had it not been for Starlink, it was nearly impossible to hold online meetings. Now it is amazing! I love my Starlink and would recommend it to anyone who lives in a rural area with few options. The cost per month is about $20 more than may very slow Windstream, but worth every penny. If you’re having issues, don’t give up. Find a good spot and you will be amazed at the difference. Thanks Elon Musk, SpaceX, and Starlink. You have literally changed my life. I live in Miami Beach but spend a lot of time here. Having been used to fast internet in Miami Beach, it is truly amazing to have such a great service. Thanks, Adolfo
