spaceterii
Hi,What are the oportunities to see someday a space data server hosted directly in some "Star cloud"...And if so...at what cost ?Reasons: new RGPD rules makes hosting in the EU with latency access above +340ms !If Satelite latency falls below 50 or 100ms it would make access faster that EU or USA (+200ms) providers for us locaed in the South Pacific with no datacenters (or just 1 expensive one)*Else,, could the total latency time be MUCH shorter whle accessing any EU datacenter by satelite compared to fiber submarine lines running half way arround the globe ?Thanks... StarlinkLeader
The costs of putting even a satellite into space are tremendous, compare that to a small datacenter and your looking at a very difficult - unreliable large system vulnerable to far more issues than one on planet earth. Solar flare could wipe out an entire " space dc " whilst earth based DC's would be fine.
