  1. Hi @roadrunnerray Yes you can stream - But i wouldn't recommend streaming two TV's on a starlink residential lite plan... 2x 5-10mbps? .. not on a lite plan. The router is hard wired to the starlink terminal. Yes the starlink dish is powered. Router effective range is dependent on multiple factors - See starlink specifications for more information. Yes you can run your printer on starlink.
  2. I suspect that the bypass mode is the issue, I’d recommend turning it off and adding the nas to the network via Ethernet. Wifi is turned off on bypass mode, as it bypasses the router
  3. It’s because the MAC address changes. disconnect the ring camera, connect and make sure the mesh is running. Then reconnect the ring camera to your wifi, it will then connect to your meshed node.
  4. Whilst I’m not an engineer, I’m assuming it’s the router which does it. But the Starlink may also call back home for stability / network reporting. within the app under statistics and the app widgets - dns, ping is shown - indicating how stable the Starlink terminal internet connection is.. based on its connectivity. This won’t affect your connection or data use, as I’m pretty sure spacex.com and Starlink.com traffic won’t count towards your data cap.
  5. Hey Philip Sorry I won't translate back to german otherwise It might come out weird! 😄 WiFi Calling not working. - Tips for fixing WiFi Calls on Starlink: Firstly, do a big reboot - Turn everything on and off. Including your phone as well. Wait 5 minutes between turning it back on ( cell phone ) Turn off WiFi Calling on your phone, with WiFi OFF. Then wait 2-3 minutes. Turn WiFi ON - Then re-activate WiFi Calling on your phone. This will hopefully reactivate WiFi Calling. - The process is to ensure WiFi Calling is turned off and back on again without WiFi interfering. Otherwise if that doesn't work I'd recommend contacting your Mobile provider as they are essentially providing the WiFi calling endpoint on your cell service. Starlink doesn't block WiFi calling - However mobile networks can disable wifi calling when users are on international IP's as a way to push their customers to roaming plans. Hope this helps 🙂
  6. Starlink data consumption is only calculated by incoming and outgoing of the Starlink terminal. I’d assume something on your nas is linked remotely.. or the sync, was done across internet rather than local… also I’d connect the Starlink router and monitor incoming and outgoing bandwidth… no bypass mode. Ensure all networked clients are on the Starlink wifi and not going back over the internet to connect to the nas.
  7. Hi there can you elaborate further on wlan calls?
  8. Hi There inowuld keep moving it until it’s happy at its expected alignment. even if you have trees in the way, whilst it’s not ideal - you will get just as good performance as you do with it misaligned.. so I would get it to where it’s happy. however, you can run it misaligned and whilst it’s not ideal - you may or may not get full expected performance and stability. do take note it can take sometime when it’s booting up to get its orientation right.
  9. Anything around or over 300VA. Only small, they don't use a lot of power.
  10. I would recommend contacting Starlink for a replacement. Major components maybe damaged from water inside the unit.
  11. Hi @will e Some cell providers and cell phones support " WiFi Calling " Wi-Fi calling is a feature that allows you to make and receive calls and texts over a Wi-Fi connection, instead of using your mobile network. It's useful when you have poor mobile coverage or no coverage. You can then use any WiFi to do phone calls across rather than over cell. I'd reach out to your mobile/cell provider to check if they support WiFi Calling. I currently use WiFi Calling across starlink ( at major events ) and it works perfectly. Hope this helps.
  12. You could also use a VPN to get a static IP.
  13. Just updating this - Starlink have since updated the app interface to show full device connectivity stats. If your connected to the starlink itself, your app will get extra stats on users and give graphs on the device's usage.
  14. Hi Doug Can you elaborate further on what issue your having? What are you connecting too locally? I'd recommend reaching out to Starlink support. Otherwise do a full factory reset and attempt to connect again.
  15. You can change plans on Starlink via accessing either the app or via the starlink account page on www.starlink.com.
  16. Mexico halts its deal with starlink after political storm: President Donald Trump’s negative comments on Mexico, endorsed by Elon Musk, seems to have upset Carlos Slim, one of the richest people in the world and who heads up Mexico’s América Móvil telco. Slim has reportedly decided to cancel his collaboration with Musk’s Starlink. Slim’s company, América Móvil, had previously announced plans to invest $22 billion (€21.2bn) over the next three years to enhance its telecommunications infrastructure, but had mentioned both Starlink and AST SpaceMobile as potential partners. Local reports say that the fallout between Slim and Musk was further exacerbated by a controversial tweet from Musk, which implied connections between Slim and organised crime. This unproven accusation added fuel to the already strained relationship between the two business tycoons. However, within an hour or two of the allegations made against him from Musk, Slim announced that he would transfer his projects for the next five years – initially with Starlink, say reports – and representing an investment of $22 billion, to AST SpaceMobile as well as companies in China and Europe. But more than the cash, Musk could now have lost a major partner in 25 countries, in addition to giving up all that territory to companies of his competition and, most seriously, causing the USA to continue losing commercial presence and giving it to China.
  17. SpaceX launched a batch of 21 Starlink internet satellites from Florida's Space Coast on Sunday night (March 2). The Falcon 9 rocket flying the mission lifted off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 9:24 p.m. ET (0224 GMT on March 3), carrying the Starlink 12-20 mission — which included 13 satellites with direct-to-cell capability — to low Earth orbit. The Falcon 9's first stage returned to Earth a little more than eight minutes after liftoff. The booster, known by the designation B1086, touched down in the Atlantic Ocean on SpaceX's "Just Read the Instructions" droneship, about 250 miles (400 kilometers) off the coast of Florida. However, that booster was lost shortly after landing. Source: Space.com
  18. Starlink is now available in the majority of countries. Check out the Starlink Map for more coverage information.
  19. Starlink does not require cell, or WiFi.... It provides WIFi itself.. Starlink Mini is applicable for a camp site, if you have power - Either USB-C PD Which supports 20V ( USBC Power bank Anker prime for example ) Or Generator etc. Starlink Mini is great for camp sites - Ive got a mini tripod for mine. The starlink mini includes a pipe mount as well. They are weather proof and so i leave it outside. Check out this link below: What are the differences between starlink mini and other models?
  20. Just bumping this topic - Starlink now offers a range of high end mounts for starlink in their online store. Check it out in the Starlink app or on their website - www.starlink.com.
  21. Hi @Xavier77ITA Unfortunately starlink does not accept prepaid cards. However they do support credit cards, debit cards, and ApplePay. You can add prepaid card to apple pay - Then use apple pay to purchase. Starlink currently does not offer annual plans - However, check the plan options during signup as they may have annual options available. You can use the same card/apple pay to pay for all six kits. Hope this helps 🙂
  22. No known issues on the starlink network.
  23. Updated Starlink Setup Guide for PC Activation 1. Unpack and Inspect Your Kit Contents: Your kit should include the Starlink dish, mounting hardware, a Wi-Fi router (with integrated modem), power supply, and necessary cables. Inspection: Verify that all components are present and undamaged. For the most current list of included items, refer to the checklist on the Starlink website. 2. Choose the Right Installation Location Clear View of the Sky: Starlink’s performance depends on an unobstructed view of the sky. Find a location where trees, buildings, or other obstacles won’t block the dish’s line of sight. Mounting Considerations: For Non-Actuated (Manual) Dishes: Precise manual alignment is required. Use a stable mounting surface (roof, pole, or tripod) and follow the latest guidance on proper elevation and azimuth angles as provided in Starlink’s installation resources. For Actuated Units: While some systems offer automated alignment, many current installations rely on manual adjustments—check your kit’s documentation to be sure. 3. Hardware Setup and Connections Dish Installation: Mount your dish securely in the chosen location. For manual (non-actuated) units, use the latest recommended angles from the Starlink support pages to ensure optimal performance. Cabling: Connect the cable from the dish to the designated port on the router. Ensure all connections are secure. Powering Up: Plug in the router and the dish’s power supply. Wait a few minutes for the system to initialize and start receiving satellite signals. 4. PC Activation and Network Configuration Activation Portal: To begin the activation process, use the updated activation page: https://www.starlink.com/activate Steps for Activation: Visit the Activation Page: Open your PC’s web browser and navigate to the activation URL above. Log In or Create an Account: Follow the on-screen instructions to either log in or register a new account if needed. Follow the Prompts: The activation portal will guide you through verifying your installation, configuring your network settings, and linking your hardware to your account. Connecting Your PC: Wi-Fi: Use the network name (SSID) and password provided with your kit. Ethernet (Optional): For a more stable connection, plug an Ethernet cable directly from your PC to the router’s LAN port. 5. Fine-Tuning and Testing Signal Quality Check: Once activated, use the Starlink app or online dashboard (if available) to monitor your signal strength and system health. Adjustments: If the connection isn’t optimal, slightly adjust the dish’s alignment as needed. Even minor changes can help improve performance. Speed Test: Run an online speed test to confirm that you’re receiving the expected performance. 6. Additional Resources and Updates Official Guidance: For the most accurate, up-to-date instructions and troubleshooting tips, always refer to the official Starlink website or support pages. Firmware and Software: Regularly check for firmware updates for your router and any updates to the Starlink app, which can enhance performance and add new features.
  24. I'd recommend checking out what plans you can upgrade too as it will mention roaming. You need roaming in order to travel with your starlink away from your residential address.
