  1. I assume that Starlink Security Key means your WiFi Network password. You account password is NOT your WiFi password. If you set it up that what, change it. Immediately. If you do not know your WiFi Network password, you can change it using the mobile app.
  2. You will need to install a Dual-WAN router than can handle two Internet connections if you want to use both connections simultaneously. This requires somewhat advanced knowledge of networking. I've actually done this and found that it works well, but I was using a $2,500 commercial router and had someone skilled who was willing to help me with the setup.
  3. Do you have the Starlink Mobile app installed? It will tell you if there are obstructions. It will also tell you how often the antenna is unable to connect to a satellite. However, the problem may be with the WiFi signal. Have you split the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks? Have you reset your router? It's possible that none of these suggestion will help. I'm hitting some of the common issues because there's no enough info to be more specific. Another suggestion: reach out to Starlink Support. HTH...

  5. That's definitely problematic. You concerns about water damage are valid. I would contact Starlink Support and see what they can do to help. It's unlikely you'll be able to repair it on your own. https://www.starlinkmap.org/
  6. That depends on the length of your home. Starlink mesh router work best when less than 100' apart.

  8. @Peter12, You don't have any tunable options to optimize the satellite network of your Starlink system. There are several options to tune/optimize your WiFi network. One of the key things to do is to split the 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ wireless networks using the apps. Many have had success using third-party mesh routers with their Starlink kit. It does require bypassing the Starlink WiFi Router and requires an Ethernet Adapter available in the Starlink store. Your Starlink system should be updating the firmware at least once/month, if not more frequently. This is automatic IF YOU LEAVE THE SYSTEM POWERED ON 24/7. The only mitigation for peak hour performance declines is to purchase a Priority Data plan. However, this does not guarantee improvements in every situation. It just means you are less likely experience performance declines. HTH.
  9. Starlink's Satellite Internet is a completely different thing that other Satellite Internet Service. Other Satellite Internet provides have one large satellite that is in "geo-synchronous" orbit. This means it always appears to be at the same place in the sky above the earth. That's why you have to point your Dish antenna to the Southwest. It is also why, in some regions, the satellite can be "too low" (i.e., near or even below the horizon). Starlink, however has several thousand satellites. As of this moment, 5,601 according to https://www.starlinkmap.org/. This Starlink Map is provided by SpaceX/Starlink themselves. As you can see all 5601 of these satellites are constantly moving. So, wherever you set up starlink, you need a fairly broad view of the overhead sky so that it can detect satellites entering your visibility before the one you are currently connected to goes out of visibiilty. The hand-off from one satellite to the next is automatic and invisible to you. ALl that being said, 12% - 13% obstruction *MIGHT* be enough to get good service... generally, teh lower the obstruction %-age, the better. I'm assuming you probably do not want to cut down any redwoods, so moving your Starlink antenna higher off the ground. Of couse, after a while, this can get challenging. You might want to seek out a Starlink installation service for assistance.
  10. No. The price of the HD equipment used in the Business subscription is much higher than the home kit. In the US it was running about $2,500 last time I checked.

  12. Starlink uses Carrier-Grade NAT (CGNAT) which does not provide for routing ports to internal IP addresses. I don't think you can accomplish what you want here.
  13. Are you asking in which Forum you should post a question? If so, that depends on the nature of the question. The titles are pretty self-explanatory. If you are having trouble deciding which forum would be best, just pick one and post your question. We're not that formal here.
  14. Have you set up any of the Starlink Kits? Do they work? What type of service are you purchasing (Residential? Roaming? Something else?) Normally Starlink requires that your Kit be installed at the delivery address. If the kit determines it is not at that address, it refused to provide you with an Internet connection.
  15. I am quite certain that Starlink must abide by the rules of each county in which they offer service. Whether or not this means putting in a ground station is beyond my knowledge. Whether they must provide those users' data to the government for filtering, tracking, etc, like depends upon the terms of the agreement between Starlink and the country. Long story short, this is a question for Starlink Support.
  16. Apple or Anroid device? Have you tried deleting the app and reinstalling? This seems to work for some people who are having issues. BE WARNED: I strongly recomment that you DO NOT stow and power-down your Starlink System every night. You will miss critical software updates and may have a delay when you power up while they are installed. Of course, stowing and powering down before travel is a good idea. The Starlink mobile app should remain logged in at all times for the experience.
  17. It's tied to the physical location of the Starlink ground station being used by the Starlink satellite to which you are connected at any given moment. This can change and might or might not be in the country of your physical address. IP Address Geolocation on the Starlink Network is problematic and there is no way to fix it on the Starlink side. This is a "feature" of the Starlink network infrastructure that cannot be changed. If you experience difficulties, your best bet is to contact your service provider(s) and see if they can tag your account with a fixed geolocation to bypass the Starlink-provided IP address. You could contact Starlink Support, but unless something MAJOR has changed, they will give you the same answer.
  18. Did you get your Starlink kit yet? Starlink Gen-2 Routers require the Starlink Ethernet Adapter. Gen-3 Routers have built-in Ethernet. You must be certain that the Cat 6 cable includes a connection for the POE required by the antenna. I'm not sure if a standard Cat 6 POE shielded cable would work or not. For both Gen-2 and Gen-3 setups, the power source is the router itself. I wouldn't put that in my network closet. The HD kit has a separate power supply for the antenna, but it is a completely different (and more expen$ive) setup than the Standard kit...
  19. The Starlink mobile app has a feature to scan for obstructions. This can be used to help find the best orientation for your antenna. It does not require an active subscription.

  21. This appears to be basic instructions on setting up to use Starlink AT ALL with your router. If things are working, then I wonder how the procedure in this FAQ is different than what you actually did? In short, if it ain't broke, don't "fix" it... 😉
  22. I believe that Mobile - Regional service only works in your original country of service. You should contact Starlink Support.
