  1. Unless you have a business account, your IP address is pretty volatile. Whitelisting may or may not help at all. DNS is not likely the problem here. Did you restart or reset your router? Try resetting it... instructions, if needed, can be found searching this forum. What email client are you using? Apple macOS Mail? Outlook? Something else? Are you using a VPN?
  2. Probably not the best idea. Starlink updates for both the Dishy antenna and your Starlink Router are delivered in the wee hours. Your current symptoms may be due to a missing update. Turn the whole Starlink system ON before you go to bed, then let it sit overnight. Check it the next morning and see if things have changed at all...
  3. Go to the Starlink Mobile app and find the option to split the 5GHz and 2.4GHz networks. Some older devices that only support 2.4GHz will malfunction until this is done.
  4. It sounds like yor wife's WORK laptop may have some security software (installed by her employer's IT department?) that requires additional security (i.e., a Security Key). If the Security Key is not the WiFi Password, then I have no idea what else it might be.
  5. I believe you can order a new kit from the Starlink Store on the support Web site.
  6. Maybe the Router is DOA. You should contact Starlink Support.
  7. I’ve no experience with running Starlink off a DC power source. There are some here who have done so with varying degrees of success. If I am not mistaken, this will void any warranty you might have on your a Starlink Kit..
  8. Reset the router. If you need instructions on how to do that they are available elsewhere in these forums. When the router powers back on, it's should have a default Network name of Starlink with no password. From there you can change the SSID and/or Password as you desire. Again, if you need detailed on how to do this, the instructions can be found elsewhere in these forums or on the Starlink support site.
  9. Contact Starlink support via email per the instructions in the above thread. Note that a USED Starlink system must be transferred TO you by the ORIGINAL OWNER.
  10. So, what is your question, @wadjambasa?
  11. That 150ft cable is for the Standard Starlink system, not the HP system. I am not aware of any after-market adapters.
  12. You need to reach out to Starlink Support with the specific details of your situation. The short answer is, it depends.
  13. I have an HP Envy on my network that functions perfectly. A couple of things I have noted about scanning... Firstly, I have found that , sometimes, I have to reboot or even reset the networking on the Printer to get scanning to work again. Not sure why, but it happens. For instructions, refer to your printer documentation. Secondly, make sure that the scanning software on your PC/Mac/Laptop is set up properly and connected to your device. If you had things working on another WiFi network and then replaced that WiFi network with Starlink WiFi, you might have to start from the very beginning with a factory reset on the printer and reinstalling drivers and software on your computer. Finally, if you still have trouble getting it all working, reach out to the manufacturer for support. Thanks,
  14. @LarsMac, I am going to assume for the moment that your "older Netwgear WiFi extender" has one or more Ethernet ports to which you have devices attached. Install the second SL router as a mesh router. Order one Starlink Ethernet Adapter from the Starlink store (or Amazon or Ebay). This plugs into the Router and provides a single Ethernet port for wired networking. If. you are supporting multiple wired devices, use an inexpensive Ethernet switch, not a router or WiFi access point. Plug the switch into the Starlink Ethernet Adapter and plug your devices into the switch. HTH...
  15. Obstructions might be an issue, but at 9% obstruction that shouldn't be a huge problem for you. In order to get a clearer view of the (northern) sky, is there another location you could place the Starlink antenna, perhaps higher off the ground? In short, Starlink works similarly to satellite TV. However, there are huge differences in the satellites employed by Starlink vs other satellite Internet provider that make a world of difference in the quality of service. If you are interested in more information, first read https://www.pcmag.com/news/starlink-vs-hughesnet-vs-viasat-which-satellite-internet-provider-is-best, especially the section titled "How Satellite Internet Works". If that's not enough detail for you, dig in with some Google searches and you'll find a ton of information out there. The basics: Starlink uses 3000+ orbiting satellite in low-earth orbit (about 350 miles up) vs. other providers using one or two satellites in high-earth orbit (about 22,000 miles). The number of satellite and their closeness to the earth are why Starlink's speed (30-150Mbps) and reliability are 50-100 times better than traditional satellite service. The Starlink Gen1 and Gen2 dishes would automatically move into position once they were installed. Once that position was set, most dishes never move again. While it is true that your Starlink dish will track the best satellite as it passes over -- and usually, there will be anywhere form 4-8 satellites that are "in view" -- this tracking is done digitally by some very, very sophisticated electronics that "shape" the signal so it always points at the satellite without the dish moving at all. Finally, there are no dumb questions -- except the questions that you don't ask. You must ask questions to get the information you need to make an informed decision. Thanks!
  16. I have no idea. That is a question for Starlink Support.
  17. Contact Starlink Support.
  18. I believe that all Business plans are capped. Go to the web site and check out the terms of service. It should have the info you need.
  19. I believe you will be able to switch to any plan supported by your hardware. Business plans require a Business Kit. This is essintially, the the High Performance Kit. The HP kit is much more expensive than the Standard kit ($2,500 vs. $600) and the Business-class service has a higher monthly fee. I think it's $500/mo for Business. As I understand it, a Static IP address is possible if you have the Business Plan. However, I don't know if there is any additional cost associated for the static IP address.
  20. When you get your Starlink Kit, install it without Bypass mode. Ensure you can get to the Internet using the Starlink Router's Wifi network. Then, plug your Linksys router into the Starlink Router's Ethernet port. I am assuming Gen3 here. If you have a Gen2 kit, you'll need to obtain the Ethernet Port as a separate order. Now, connect to your Linksys router and attempt to access the Internet. If you have access from at least two devices connected to your LInkSys router, you should be safe to enable Bypass Mode. If things stop working after you turn on Bypass Mode, reset the Starlink Router and start from the top.
