BENIN Afrika, activation account
RicochetStarlink replied to amine.ouafi's topic in General Starlink
@amine.ouafi, This is a difficult situation. Your best bet is to contact Starlink support for assistance. See the post below for instructions on contacting Starlink Support, with or without a Starlink account. -
The most concerning thing I see here, @wchazstory, is the message "ROUTER NOT ON ACCOUNT". Open the Starlink mobile app on a mobile device. Login to your Starlink account in the Mobile app. If you still see the message, "ROUTER NOT ON ACCOUNT", contact Starlink Support. See the following post in these forums for detailed instructions. The Raspberry Pi is likely NOT the issue here. However, if you have a small Ethernet switch (~$25 on Amazon.com or at your local Walmart), try connecting the Pi and your WIndows machine to the Ethernet switch using RJ-45 cables for each device. Then, see if you can access the Pi to make the needed changes. Hope that helps...

@Addbuyer, I am not aware of any such COTS adapters to adapt the Starlink connectors to RJ-45. Cutting your Starlink Cable will immediately void the warranty on your Starlink Kit. With that being said, you might want to reach out to @engineerinavan. He has experience with installing the Starlink Kit in vehicles using 12v power which almost certainly involves cable mods. Maybe he can provide you with some recommendations. Thanks!

Can't sign up for Starlink with US phone number
RicochetStarlink replied to Marty's topic in General Starlink
Contact Starlink Support. They have many schemes like this in place to ensure that customers are not ordering hardware in one country for use in another. Since this forum is not associated with Starlink or SpaceX, I don't think that anyone here that can help you. -
@Rickaugust, Starlink is primarily intended for people who live and work in remote locations where high-speed Internet service is generally not available. Using Starlink in an urban area is not recommended for the very reasons you mention. The Roam plan was designed for those who are travelling in an RV or other mobile living quarters and find themselves in remote areas. I think Starlink was not the right choice for your situation.

Will adding a router change my Public IP?
RicochetStarlink replied to Backwoods Farmer's topic in 3rd Party Routers
@Backwoods Farmer, Unless you have a Starlink Business plan, then you do NOT have a static IP address. If you are on the Standard Plan or Roam Plan, the configuration you are contemplating for port forwarding will not likely work because Starlink uses something called CGNAT (Carrier-Grade Network Address Translation). Either way, adding a third-party router will have ZERO effect on your Starlink IP address. -
Reach out to Starlink Support. You should be able to order a replacement.

How do I become a Starlink reseller?

No. I have not. -
Starlink tarif duration, notice periods?
RicochetStarlink replied to RobertD's topic in Starlink Troubleshooting & Questions
When you cancel, you're plan will be terminated at the end of the billing period. Everyone's billing period is different. It starts every month on the same day of the month that you first activated your service. -
Starlink transfer to another country
RicochetStarlink replied to kendyshop's topic in Starlink Troubleshooting & Questions
@kendyshop, this is a question for Starlink Support. Starlink Forum is not associated with Starlink or SpaceX. Here's an post with info on how to contact Starlink Support. -
My guess is that you are on the right track, @bowpulpit. That bus is made out of metal and the "basement" has a lot of structural support for the "upstairs"... hence lots of potential for EMI which can be deadly for WiFi.

Email Hosting That Accepts Dynamic IP
RicochetStarlink replied to KublaKhan's topic in Starlink Troubleshooting & Questions
ALL Email providers should support non-static IP addresses. Hardly anyone -- other than businesses - has a static IP address these days. They are harder and harder to come by. Why can't you use a connection with a dynamic IP address at Digital Pacific? That's just silly... Are you sure that's the issue? -
Starlink tarif duration, notice periods?
RicochetStarlink replied to RobertD's topic in Starlink Troubleshooting & Questions
There are no contracts with Starlink. You can cancel at any time. However, if you cancel on the 1st day of your billing cycle, your service will not be cancelled until the end of the billing period. -
Give it overnight to download software updates. How is it working today?

No, I haven't seen these symptoms. All of our primary computing devices are Apple products (Mac books, Mac Mini, an OLD iMac, iPhones, iPads), too. We also have a bunch (10+?) of IoT devices (thermostat, alarm system, security cameras, 4K TVs, etc) on the network. Up until about 90 days ago, Starlink handled all of this without issues. Oh, we did have a second, meshed Starlink router. However, since getting connected to fiber Internet, Starlink is now my backup ISP and I have switched out my WiFi Routers for Amplifi Aliens. So, my experience here is from at least a few months ago. Questions: What generation is your Starlink Kit? Gen 1? Gen 2? Gen 3? Most likely, you're on a Gen 2 Kit since Gen 1 is long obsolete and Gen 3 is just beginning to ship. Have you separated the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks on your Starlink Router? If not, I would do so right away. This can be done through the mobile app under Network settings. Do you have any different antivirus or security software running on the two Macbooks that are experiencing these issues. I'm particularly interested in what's on the hard-wired iMac. Do you have nearby neighbors who might have a WiFi network that is bleeding into your home? This could cause WiFi channel conflicts or overloading which are known to affect WiFi performance. I with I had an easy answer for you, but, in the end, there are a LOT of things that can contribute to these issues. Narrowing this down will take some diligence -- and time.

Not between the Deco and Starlink Routers. Starlink's mesh appears to use a proprietary protocol. However, according to TP-Link's Web site, the Deco X50 is capable of meshing with another Deco X50. Assuming that you can connect two Deco X50 WiFi routers using an Ethernet (RJ-45) cable, my recommendation would be... Buy another Deco X50 for the shed. Connect the Deco X50 in the shed to your Starlink Router using a Starlink Ethernet Adapter. The Ethernet adapter can be purchased in the Starlink store. Configure the Deco X50's WiFI. Put your Starlink Router into bypass mode. Don't disconnect it. The Router provides power to the Antenna. Bypass Mode simply turns off it's WiFi radio. Configure your two X50's as a mesh GO If the X50's can't be connected using your existing Ethernet cabling, perhaps the signal will be able to reach from the shed to the house? Good luck!

Why not use a good, inexpensive point-to-point antenna that's intended for outdoor use? It'll be a lot cheaper... and more reliable. For instance, two of these https://store.ui.com/us/en/products/powerbeam-5ac and a little bit of installation and you'd be good to go. I did this successfully about 8-9 years ago betwen our home and my mother-in-law's home. It allowed us to share a very expensive Internet connection. It worked like a charm.
