Best practice to incorporate a switch and mesh wifi
StarlinkLeader replied to Steve Kennedy's topic in 3rd Party Routers
HI Steve I wouldn't change it tbh - If it works it works 🙂 -
In all honesty I wouldn't be using a flat ethernet cable when there is 100w of PoE going down it at 50v+. Thats asking for issues. - I would revise the plan, you may not get a square dishy - Enabling you to run typical PoE cable. You could easily use a outdoor duct with seals eitherside for the cable to go through.
-
Don't worry a dishy will be delivered to you eventually - There is no priority to certain users unfortunately, filtering between such customers would be impossible. The initial plan was to beta test, provide terminals to key groups and communities in direct urgent assistance of connectivity. There is other options you could try and find such as local WISP's - Wireless Internet Providers. The good part about getting a terminal later than everyone else - less bugs, outages when you eventually get your unit. Feel free to reach out if you have any further queries.

Available cells changing back to Waitlist
StarlinkLeader replied to Roger Duffell's topic in Starlink Coverage
Safe to say its most likely due to scaling - Expected bandwidth usage maybe higher per user than predicted. Keep an eye on the availability map Which area in particular? -
Capped upload file transfer speed?
StarlinkLeader replied to Lstef11's topic in Starlink Troubleshooting & Questions
I'd assume without looking at a traceroute that its a bad route. You could run a VPN out to AWS to get better speeds from the dream machine? ( im not sure if it does VPN? ) What protocol is your backup running on? -
Starlink Mobility - Testing

Starlink mobility is now in production - See the post below for more information about using Starlink with your RV/Boat or vehicle. -
There is a few out there - Plenty in Ky have received dishes. If you haven't received yours yet - I would get in touch with starlink support.

What version of starlink app?
-
If you register a VOIP line and get a PSTN gateway for your current phones, then link the gateway into your VOIP line - yes. However retaining your original number depends on the VOIP provider you choose. Starlink does not provide PSTN, VOIP services.
-
Download pingplotter, Check to see if there is any packet loss. I'd assume there is slight packet loss across a certain route and its causing issues. You may need to run a VPN - This will keep a stable encrypted connection whereby QoS/ingress connection is held better than the raw route. - I would recommend submitting a support ticket to Starlink, with other users having the same issues - Engineers can review the number of reports for platform connectivity issues/errors and they will investigate ( or at least should ) If your MS teams video is run via a VPN e.g tunnel - Most likely better connectivity
-
It may work however couldn't be sure since its forbidden in your country.

For an additional monthly fee of $25.00, you can move your Starlink to new locations within your continent to receive service anywhere Starlink provides active coverage. To see active coverage areas please view the Starlink Availability Map Common queries about Starlink Portability: For an additional monthly fee, the Portability feature enables users to temporarily move their Starlink to new locations in order to receive service anywhere within the same continent Starlink provides active coverage. To see active coverage areas, please view the Starlink Availability Map. Portable users are served best effort and can expect lower service levels than fixed users, particularly in areas marked as "Waitlist" on the Availability Map. Add Portability on Your Account: If you are an active customer, you can enable Portability from your account page and it will take effect immediately. If you have multiple Starlinks, Portability must be selected and purchased for each location. When you enable Portability, you are charged on your next monthly invoice. Portability is charged in full monthly increments and cannot be pro-rated. The Portability feature and billing charges will be ongoing until you decide to disable it. Once you disable Portability, the recurring charge will stop after your next monthly invoice and Portability will only remain active for the remainder of the current billing cycle. For example, if you enable Portability on March 12th and your next billing date is on April 1st, you will be charged $25 on April 1st for the full previous month. Limitations: Best Effort Service: Portability service is provided on a best effort basis. Stated speeds and uninterrupted use of services are not guaranteed. Starlink prioritizes network resources for users at their registered service address. When you bring your Starlink to a new location, this prioritization may result in degraded service, particularly at times of peak usage or network congestion. International Travel: Starlink can only be used within the same continent as the registered Service Address. If you use Starlink in a foreign country for more than two months, you will be required to move your registered service address to your new location or purchase an additional Starlink to maintain service. No In-Motion Use: We do not support Starlink use in motion at this time. Using the Starlink Kit in motion will void the limited warranty of your Kit. While our teams are actively working to make it possible to use Starlink on moving vehicles (e.g., automobiles, RVs, boats), Starlink is not yet configured to be safely used in this way. Can I add additional service locations to my account? To add an additional service location to your Account, you can place another Starlink order, as availability permits, by clicking "+" in the Locations section of your account. Each additional location requires the purchase of a Starlink and Starlink subscription. There is a limit of 3 locations per account and no limit for Business accounts. If the new area does not have service availability, you will have the ability to place a deposit for that location. You cannot add a location in a different country. You can also enable Portability to receive deprioritized service anywhere Starlink has coverage within the same continent as your Service Address. Learn more about Portability here. Note: You can view Starlink's service availability map Does Starlink Portability replace the need for changing my service address? No. Although Starlink Portability enables users to use their Starlink terminal in other locations, users will have less priority on the network. If you are going to be in a different area for an extended period of time, Starlink requires you to change your registered service address location (subject to availability) to ensure the best experience. Users who stay in the same area outside their service address location for an extended period of time may see a further decrease in performance to accommodate users at their Service Address.

Anyone seeing this message "Degraded Service"
StarlinkLeader replied to MarkS's topic in General Starlink
Degraded service is related to a number of factors: Satellite congestion Weather Obstructions Solar events Try restarting your starlink router, and dishy - and/or turn it off and wait 15 minutes. If your unit continues to get degraded service without obstacles and without obvious weather events - Get in touch with Starlink support your unit may have issues and need further diagnosis.
