  1. Can you connect to your router at all via its IP? has dishy aligned at all? Is it online on your app?
  2. WiFi 2.4ghz, 5GHZ will only reach 600ft-800ft if using a typical phone/laptop. You can do wireless bridges ( backhaul/PtP - point to point ) from your main house to the outbuildings or chain it.. e.g; House with internet --> ptp #1 -> p2p 2# -> outbuilding #1 -> p2p 3# -> ptp 4# -> outbuilding #2. Depending on your budget - You can do a number of things; Roaming WiFi onboard 4wd vehicle large farm with PtMP UBNT, Bullet M2, UBNT AP, 24v PoE E.g put a ubnt bullet m2, or m5 into a polaris with a decent antenna - Then rig it into an ubnt AP, then you can have wifi all around the farm. ( Works by using a PtMP AP on your main home buildings with internet that beam out 5GHZ backhaul, the ubnt bullet pulls it in, pushes it to the access point onboard. Both running 24v PoE )
  3. Technically mesh routers work like this: Router -> Ethernet -> Mesh #1 -> wireless uplink -> mesh #2 -> wireless uplink -> mesh #3. Its not ideal to be bridging your internet via an WiFi uplink - Its only going to increase RF interference and increase latency. Where as mesh AP's will use out of band or non used channels for uplinks. I'd recommend getting an ethernet adapter and running an ethernet cable to the first AP that requires ethernet in your mesh setup.
  4. Hi @Redvv Sorry to hear of your unpleasant experience with starlink. Have you checked the base of the dishy pole? - Referencing the below post, They had an issue where dishy would go offline unless the connection was tight. Otherwise have you double checked that dishy is infact powering on? Has it aligned itself at all? or staying in one position?
  5. Hi Merten. I've Pm'd you an email address to get in touch with Starlink resolutions. As this is is a difficult one. You will need to specify simply what has occurred in this format: Issue; Double up of accounts, require recovery of one account and refund of deposit - Request refund of account with xx@xx email account #1. - Email recovery issues - cannot reset password via typical recovery method as email maybe incorrect/invalid - include all your details, including any current and/or historic tickets in the system. - your current email address related to account #2 as well - also indicate to them what you want done to the account #2 if required. I have to say that is a difficult one.. Feel free to reach out if you have any further queries.
  6. Recover your account via setting up a password - firstly - https://auth.starlink.com/forgot-password Then login here https://auth.starlink.com/ You can then submit a support ticket regarding the damaged dishy. If you still cannot login reach out and I'll see what I can do for you.
  7. Interesting query. Without going into the depths of inner RF physics lets keep it simple. - Whilst your starlink dish can see " signals " from 94% roughly, it may require the satellite in view of the horizon in the 5% of sky that you don't have view of. The angle of which the signal comes into the dish is not straight, its angled ( kinda ) So whilst you think the trees won't block the majority of view, it may be blocking a 2nd connection to another sat. I'd recommend mounting the other starlink in another location away from tree's then PtP ( point to point backhaul ) the internet back into where you need it. PtP - Point to point. Think of two wireless units on two buildings. One building has starlink, the other doesn't. The two wireless units bridge between each other ( line of sight required ) and you can do 500mbps-gbps over the bridge. Feel free to reach out if you have any further queries.
  8. Roof vs Pole Starlink installations - Concerns I have that are probably OCD: lightning starlink on a pole at ground level - if security in your area is ok go for it but these days people will nab anything weather - wind, exposure at higher heights. The higher the better for less obstructions. Many mount their starlinks fairly high and on roof tops.. Might pay to ensure you have good earthing of your roof etc which helps against lightning strikes. Glad to hear you've found an installer, feel free to get him to jump on the forum here and list up his details - Plenty of people seeking decent installers 🙂
  9. Remove portability. Do another factory reset, leave it on for sometime. It may need to run a firmware update. Do you get mild GPS signal where you are? Its odd for the unit to do that, unless its been moved? Have you moved the terminal from its registered location?
  10. For an additional monthly fee, the Portability feature enables users to temporarily move their Starlink to new locations in order to receive service anywhere within the same continent Starlink provides active coverage. To see active coverage areas, please view the Starlink Availability Map. Portable users are served best effort and can expect lower service levels than fixed users, particularly in areas marked as "Waitlist" on the Availability Map. Add Portability on Your Account: If you are an active customer, you can enable Portability from your account page and it will take effect immediately. If you purchased Portability before receiving your Starlink as a new customer, you must first power on your new Starlink at the Service Address listed in your account so your Starlink can update its software. Once updated, the Starlink will then be configured for Portability. If you have multiple Starlinks, Portability must be selected and purchased for each location. When you enable Portability, you are charged on your next monthly invoice. Portability is charged in full monthly increments and cannot be pro-rated. The Portability feature and billing charges will be ongoing until you decide to disable it. Once you disable Portability, the recurring charge will stop after your next monthly invoice and Portability will only remain active for the remainder of the current billing cycle. For example, if you enable Portability on March 12th and your next billing date is on April 1st, you will be charged $25 on April 1st for the full previous month. Limitations: Best Effort Service: Portability service is provided on a best effort basis. Stated speeds and uninterrupted use of services are not guaranteed. Starlink prioritizes network resources for users at their registered service address. When you bring your Starlink to a new location, this prioritization may result in degraded service, particularly at times of peak usage or network congestion. International Travel: Starlink can only be used within the same continent as the registered Service Address. If you use Starlink in a foreign country for more than two months, you will be required to move your registered service address to your new location or purchase an additional Starlink to maintain service. No In-Motion Use: We do not support Starlink use in motion at this time. Using the Starlink Kit in motion will void the limited warranty of your Kit. While our teams are actively working to make it possible to use Starlink on moving vehicles (e.g., automobiles, RVs, boats), Starlink is not yet configured to be safely used in this way.
  11. Customers can expect to see download speeds between 50 Mb/s and 250 Mb/s and latency as low as 20 ms in most locations. You may see speeds on the lower end in congested areas and at times of peak usage. We expect improvements as we fully deploy our satellite constellation with future launches – especially with Starship! If you are seeing slow speeds consistently - even outside of times of peak usage (5pm – 10pm local) there may be issues with your setup that are negatively impacting your speeds. Common examples include: the location of your router, hardware or cable damage, temporary network conditions, or 3rd party network equipment. Follow the troubleshooting steps below: Check for alerts, obstructions, or outages in the Starlink App. To check your average speed, run a few speed tests from the Starlink App by selecting the "Speed" icon on the home screen. In the Starlink App, go to "Connected Devices" to view device signal strength. Signal weakens the further you are from router. Ensure router is in an upright position and in an open area. Run another speed test when you are closer to the router to see if speed improves. See the "How can I improve my WiFi connectivity?" topic for additional guidance. Verify there is no damage to Starlink, cables, or connectors. Cuts, hard bends, or alterations to cables can impact service. Disconnect all 3rd party (non-Starlink) hardware connected in your Starlink setup and run another speed test. Power cycle Starlink by unplugging from power and then plugging back in. If you are still consistently experiencing speeds less than 50 Mb/s outside of peak hours, please contact Support with the following information: Are you using any 3rd party (non-Starlink) hardware in your Starlink setup, like alternate routers, WiFi extenders, additional cabling, or surge suppressors? Do slow speeds seem to occur with certain devices, websites or applications, or at specific times of the day? Try at least two devices to conduct a speed test. Ideally with one connected over ethernet to the Starlink router. Report the speed test site used, server location displayed in the test results, and what time you ran your tests. 12. Wow! This is awesome! Thanks for posting this up Kurt. Any specifications on the dome size that others could use by any chance? Also how are you rigging your marine DC into dishy or are you running it off 240v inverter?
  13. TPLink travel routers do the job pretty well but they are not what i call " ideal " - They work, but not ideal for gaming etc. - They can push decent speeds, some of them support 5GHZ as well. Hope this helps 🙂
  14. Hi Yuda Yes - It can however I wouldn't rely on the RV service because it gets lesser priority. If you're running a VPN it will assist very much so with connectivity. However do take note, there is regular firmware updates and network changes being made. If i were you i would investigate running a peplink router enabling you to run multiple internet connections and run your own traffic endpoints if required - Then you can VPN across that with excellent reliability/redundancy.
  15. Have you booted the unit off for 30 minutes then turned back on? Is your account active within the app?
  16. Have you submitted a ticket regarding the issue?
  17. Just a follow up on this - Some providers are now being a bit more proactive in regards to Starlink IP ranges. If you're having issues with a particular platform feel free to post in our Starlink Trouble shooting and questions area - https://starlinkforum.net/forum/8-starlink-troubleshooting-questions/
  18. Hi @foleyjames Feel free to check out this fix: Let us know if it works 🙂
  19. " Degraded Service " Starlink Message Check your dishy for obstructions Solar Events, Weather and congestion can cause disruptions. Network updates/outages can also cause issues. If your service is down for longer than a few hours - Contact support or submit a query in our troubleshooting section.
  20. Works really well 🙂 ( Will pm you my results ) - Speedfusion works fine. Will be getting a 2nd terminal for testing across peplink soon 🙂
