@Kjeld Vrauwdeunt First of all, sorry we missed your window of opportunity. There is activity here on StarlinkForum.net pretty much around the clock, but I am one of the major contributors and only check in a couple of times a week. StarlinkForum.net is a collection of Starlink Users who come here to share our experience with Starlink. We are not able to speak for for Starlink. To my knowledge, there are no Starlink employees in these forums. If you are still interested in having someone from StarlinkForum participate in a Q&A session on some future date, please reply here. I am copying @StarlinkLeader who is the creator of StarlinkForum.net. Thanks!

I lived in the desert of NM and had Starlink there for about a year. We had some REALLY hot, long and dry summer days. I'm sure the temperature of the dish significantly exceeded 50C. To my knowledge, I never had a shutdown or outage. If you are still concerned, reach out to Starlink Support at StarlinkResolutions@spacex.com.

@Tribion You wrote: > They replaced the entire setup... Who is "they"? Is that Starlink Support? Maybe Best Buy? Long story short, if you have replaced your Starlink Kit, Starlink Support needs to know that so your subscription is transferred. However, if Starlink Support replaced your Starlink Kit, then they should already know about it. Go to https://www.starlink.com/account/home and login. At the top right under Your Starlinks, how many entries do you see? You should see one entry, but there might be none... or two... If you see only one entry, click on Manage next to that entry. On the next screen, at the bottom, you will see Devices with one tab for each device. Each tab has an icon that identifies it as an antenna or a router and some text that identifies the device. Your antenna(s) will have a Dish icon and should be labelled "STARLINK xxxx" where 'xxxx' is some digits and characters. How many of these do you see? In the end, I suggest your reach out to Starlink Support. I don't believe that any of the members of StarlinkForum can help you get this worked out. Thanks!

Trouble with connecting multiple devices
RicochetStarlink replied to Matt's topic in Starlink Troubleshooting & Questions
I don't think Starlink favors wired or wireless connections. The Starlink Router only supports wireless connections without the Ethernet Adapter. For Starlink Business, the Ethernet Adapter won't add any capabilities except that you can use the Starlink Router's WiFi network for wireless while simultaneously using one (or more?) wired device(s). Starlink Business is designed to connect directly to some type of router... that can be the Starlink Router (using the included cable with custom connectors on both ends) or a third-party router (using the included cable with an RJ-45 connector on one end). The key here, I believe, is that Starlink seems to expect that a router is connected to the dish... -
If you order Starlink Business, it comes with the High-Performance dish for $2,500. Here in the Southeastern, US, the recurring fee is $250/mo. The data transfer is limited to 1TB/mo. For $500/mo, you can get 2TB/mo. I don't believe there is any way to order Starlink Standard with the High Performance dish. It is an after-the-fact upgrade -- for $2,500...

Trouble with connecting multiple devices
RicochetStarlink replied to Matt's topic in Starlink Troubleshooting & Questions
My router, a Sophos 2300, is a mid-grade commercial router and quite pricy. I think Starlink's intent here is for you to use a Wireless Router attached to the Ethernet Port and bypass the Starlink Router. -
Trouble with connecting multiple devices
RicochetStarlink replied to Matt's topic in Starlink Troubleshooting & Questions
@Matt, The difference between your TP-Link switch and my Sophos router may have something to do with how IP addressing is handled. A switch allows each device to connect directly to Starlink -- requiring two IP Addresses -- and a router appears as a single device -- requiring only a single IP Address. I do not believe that the Ethernet Adapter is intended to allow multiple devices to connect directly to Starlink's network. So, with a switch, the first device that is powered may be the only one with unrestricted access. -
@LorenR, What do you mean by "a different dish"?

StarlinkForums.net is not affiliated with Starlink. We are customers of Starlink who try to help each other out. So, no, sadly, we cannot help you with your IP Address. Moreover, Starlink’s network behaves as you described. The is all done dynamically by software and Starlink has no means to assign you a more geo-specific IP Address. Even Starlink business does not allow you to choose the locale of the static IP address it provides. I suggest that you reach out to Hulu for assistance in finding a possible solution.

Charged for Starlink I never ordered
RicochetStarlink replied to adaml4659's topic in Starlink Troubleshooting & Questions
I’m assuming here that you never received a Starlink Kit, either. Correct? If that is the case… First, call your credit card company and dispute the charge. Then, send an email to StarlinkResolutions@spacex.com and tell them what you’ve done. This could be a case of Credit Card fraud… -
I cannot sign into my account.
RicochetStarlink replied to JimBolton's topic in Starlink Troubleshooting & Questions
Try to reset your password using the link on the login page. If that fails, try entering your email address with the first letter capitalized. It appears that email addresses are case-sensitive at Starlink and some mobile browsers will change the first letter to a capital letter when signing up. Finally, you can reach out to StarlinkResolutions@soacex.com. -
Sadly, you cannot control the direction that your Starlink Dishy (antenna) is pointed. Once set up, it will automatically orient itself towards a predetermine direction for best coverage. In the Northern Hemisphere this is North(-ish). You will have to have unobstructed access in that direction to have a serviceable Starlink connection.

I’m not aware of an “official” Starlink list of installers. I’m on TN and have done my own installations. Perhaps someone here can provide a contact.
-
Yes, that is correct. If you want to connect to Starlink using both wired and wireless connections, you will need the Ethernet adapter. If you want to connect multiple devices via Ethernet, you will need a switch (or router) plugged into the single port on the Ethernet adapter and then plug your wired connections into the device.

Reboot Failing after Power Outages
RicochetStarlink replied to Alex's topic in Starlink Troubleshooting & Questions
I don’t have a generator, so I cannot speak to that situation. However, if you have regular outages, try installing a small UPS (battery backup) and plugging your Starlink Kit into it. This will give you some time, depending on the size of the UPS battery, to get your generator started before the Starlink Kit loses power. -

Send an email to Starlink Suppot (starlinkresolutions@spacex.com). You’ll need to provide your Starlink Kit number, your email address used to sign up, and your former service address. they should be able to help you. -
Email not working on Apple iMac
RicochetStarlink replied to Moray's topic in Starlink Troubleshooting & Questions
Ummmm... without some more detail, this is gonna be pretty hard to diagnose. Are other Internet-related services working on the Mac? Browing, etc? What email service are you using on the PC and on the Mac? What email clients are you using on the PC and on the Mac? Any detail you can provide could help in discovering the problem. -
Delayed Recovery from Power Failure
RicochetStarlink replied to LorenR's topic in Starlink Troubleshooting & Questions
@bwilliams A built-in battery? HAH! No, LOL! You'd think with SpaceX being a sister-company to Tesla, they might have included a battery... but, alas, no... no, they did not. I have a Starlink Router that is on a UPS. We have regular power issues in our rural community. When the power has been out. long enough for the UPS battery to shut down -- which has happened a time or two -- the Starlink Router generally reconnects to the Internet with no intervention. I have had to reboot the Router at other times which there was no apparent outage. So, "is this typical"? I find there is nothing "typical" about ANY behavior in ANY networking setup for ANY provider. There are just too many variables, regardless. HTH
